The land known for having more sheep than people is possibly one of my all-time favorites. Indeed, my travels to New Zealand was some of the most epic times I ever had, and if you’re wondering why, I’m about to tell you all about it!
They say that anything is possible in Kiwi country. New Zealand is home to some of the most picturesque landscapes on earth, and the people make the experience that much cooler. Have a look at some of the weird and wonderful things I did while I visited the land of plenty…
1. I Swam With Dolphins
Okay so you can actually do this in a lot of countries, but I reckon that my Kiwi dolphin-swimming stint was just amazing. New Zealand’s South Island is where I headed to Kaikoura for the opportunity to swim with the fishes. Those guys just love people; I mean I even had a bunch of them circling around me. What an experience!
2. I Went Skydiving
New Zealand happens to be a hotspot for adventure activities, so I knew I needed to get my thrill on. That’s why I decided to opt in for a skydive excursion. To get this badge pinned to my vest I visited Lake Taupo, which is located on New Zealand’s North Island. There’s something about the way one feels at 15,000 feet above the ground that I just can’t describe, but I reckon you get the idea!
3. I Ate Like a Boss
So I heard about this joint in Queenstown called Fergburger, and from what the locals were saying, I just knew I had to get my munchies cured there. I was pretty much flabbergasted from the hike that I had done earlier that day, and if it hadn’t been for my Neoshell jacket, I might not even have made it to the sacred spot. I promise you, that place serves the best burgers south of the sun, and it’s no joke friends.
4. I Walked on an Active Glacier
The Franz Josef Glacier experience was one for the books, well at least my books. To experience the thrill, I headed to the South Island, and since the shape of the glacier is constantly changing, I had no idea what to expect. The challenge here was carving my own steps in order to navigate through the glacier surface, but it was worth every tiring step along the way!
5. I Did Random Crap at Puzzling World
Located near Wanaka is the odd yet interesting Puzzling World. I got to take some pretty awesome pictures here, like me holding a ten-ton building for instance. I also had a blast in the rooms that let you defy gravity, oh and the Ames Room blew my mind with its ability to shift the reality of individuals!
6. I Got My Adrenaline Levels Up at Agroventures Adventure Park
The Agroventures Adventure Park close to Rotorua is where I was able to do wacky stuff like swinging in a sleeping bag at a speed of roughly 80mph. It’s hard to imagine the picture I’m trying to paint in your mind, I know, but it's great fun and even more fun to watch a human being flung around in the air for no reason at all!
7. I Got Blown Away By Nature
One of the predominant reasons for me having such an epic time in New Zealand has to do with the sheer natural wonder. I mean things like the clear turquoise waters that run through the rivers and the mountains that remind us of how small we really are. Those are the kind of things that really stole my heart. Mother Nature has really got her thing going on, in full swing, and nowhere else on earth will you experience brilliance like it exists in New Zealand.
The Wrap Up
Well friends, I a nutshell, that was why my experience in New Zealand was one that I will never forget, and probably one of the most epic undertakings I ever completed. The country where the sun first kisses the earth come the break of dawn is truly captivating, and I don’t reckon that any other spot on earth really makes nature feel like our playground quite like the Kiwi country does!
