Blue Ridge Parkway:

  • Route:  469 miles connecting the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina to the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia
  • Description: "America's Favorite Drive" meanders along the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Appalachians & offers stunning views, abundant hiking trails, picnic areas, campsites, and interpretive exhibits.

Brandywine Valley Scenic Byway:

  • Route: 12 miles from Kennett Square, Pennsylvania southeast to Wilmington, Delaware
  • Description: The narrow twisting roads along the Brandywine River offer historic sites, magnificent estates, glorious gardens, and mesmerizing museums from the du Pont family.

Cape Code Scenic Drive:

  • Route: 62 miles on northern Route 6A (Old King's Highway) & 160 miles for the full circuit around Cape Cod in Massachusetts
  • Description: Along the drive you'll enjoy vistas, bicycle paths, historic villages, museums, beaches, Nickerson State Park, & Cape Cod National Seashore.  (Note:  The full circuit is best during Spring & Fall, since the summer months are very crowded)  

Outer Banks Scenic Byway:

  • Route: 142 miles along the Outer Banks & Crystal Coast of North Carolina
  • Description: The coastal landscapes provide tidal marshes, wind swept dunes, lonesome beaches, and beautiful sounds.  Cape Hatteras & Cape Lookout are home to four lighthouses, and Pea Island & Sea Island are wildlife refuges with migrating song birds & waterfowl.

Overseas Highway:

  • Route: 120 miles from Miami to Key West, Florida
  • Description: The drive traverses a number of bridges & causeways and feels like piloting a hovercraft across the ocean.  Along the way stop at a variety of seafood restaurants & swim with dolphins at the Theater of the Sea in Islamorada.

Cabot Trail:

  • Route: 185 miles around the northern tip of Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia
  • Description: The northern section passes through Cape Breton Highlands National Park.  The western & eastern sections follow the rugged coastline, providing spectacular views of the ocean. The southwestern section passes through the Margaree River valley before passing along Bras d'Or Lake.
